Your driver picks you up from your hotel lobby at 05:30. You drive to Luxor in a private air-conditioned vehicle, through the desert and the villages of the Nile Valley. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours.
Your first stop is Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in Egypt. Your Egyptologist guide walks you through the Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 giant columns, and shows you the obelisks and the sacred lake.
At midday you have an Egyptian lunch at a selected local restaurant. Lunch is included; drinks are paid on the spot.
In the afternoon you relax on a 30-minute motorboat ride on the Nile, with views of the river banks and some of the best photo spots of the day.
Next you visit Luxor Temple in the heart of the city. Your guide tells you about the ancient Opet Festival and shows you the Abu El Haggag Mosque, built inside the temple.
You check in to your 5-star hotel and have a free evening. If you like, you can watch the optional Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple, a one-hour show that brings ancient Thebes to life.
After breakfast you cross to the West Bank and visit the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried. Your ticket includes three decorated tombs. Tutankhamun's tomb is an option with a separate ticket.
Next you visit the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, built into the cliffs. Your guide tells you the story of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few women to rule Egypt as pharaoh.
On the way you stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two giant statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III and a favourite photo spot.
You have an Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant on the West Bank. Lunch is included; drinks are paid on the spot.
In the afternoon your driver takes you back to Hurghada. You arrive at your hotel around 18:00.

Your Valley of the Kings ticket includes three tombs. The tombs open to visitors change from time to time, so your guide chooses the best three that are open on the day. Tutankhamun's tomb needs a separate ticket. Tell your guide if you want to see it, and they will plan it into your visit.
